He’s doing well among millennials, but they won’t love his stance here.
Gary Johnson Opposed to Net Neutrality
This is another position, taken by Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson; that blows my mind. What blows my mind, even more, is the fact that many of his supporters are former supporters of Bernie Sanders, even though they are opposites, at least politically. I’m pretty sure that Bernie Sanders is not pleased with his former supporters.
The support of Gary Johnson shown by millennials is also another area that has me baffled, not to mention dismayed. Either these people are so anti-Hillary, or they are not paying attention to the situation that they are willing to take a massive, and potentially costly gamble. Gary Johnson has taken a position in opposition to net neutrality, a controversial issue that has confronted our society for the last several years.
Net neutrality, also known as Internet neutrality, is a position where Internet providers (ISPs) are not allowed to enhance connections to certain websites, interfere with the bandwidth of each site, decreasing access to certain websites, or entirely blocking access to certain websites. The concept of net neutrality is a way of guaranteeing everyone free access to the Internet, regardless of political position or corporate affiliation. Net neutrality will make sure open access to the Internet for everyone regardless of who they are.
I don’t understand why supporters of Gary Johnson, especially millennials, and former Bernie Sanders fans cannot grasp that the candidate they now support is against something that most of them are for, net neutrality. Bernie Sanders was a great advocate for net neutrality, as he said on many occasions. It distresses me that, as a Bernie Sanders supporter myself, that so many others are so stupid or naïve as to trust Gary Sanders. It also distresses me that so many millennials also support him, even though studies show that they are also largely in support of net neutrality.
Gary Johnson has always supported a ludicrous and shortsighted position calling for increased usage of coal-fired power plants; something that studies have also shown millennials are opposed to because they are opposed to greenhouse gasses and global warming, I cannot understand where they are coming from, by supporting a candidate like Gary Johnson.
Gary Johnson has also said that the government should not do anything about global warming. He is also against net neutrality. This makes him a candidate for president that I would never vote. Why so many millennials and former supporters of Bernie Sanders are supporting Gary Johnson tells me that they either aren’t paying attention or are so disaffected and disenchanted with the system that they are willing to risk it all by voting for Gary Johnson for President of United States. I certainly hope that they don’t get the chance to see their mistake after it’s too late.
