3 things I know to be true

Bernie Sanders for President

Bernie Sanders for President

Coming out of last night’s results, in which we won Rhode Island but came up short in four others, I want to pose to you three things that I know to be true:

Young people – the future of our country – continue to vote for our campaign in overwhelming numbers. It’s remarkable, and honestly quite humbling.

When we compete in open primaries that encourage the participation of independents, new voters, and young people, we do very well.

Most young people of last remains in front of us is a very narrow path to the nomination. In the weeks to come we will be competing in a series of states that are very favorable to us – including California. Just like after March 15 – when we won 8 of the next 9 contests – we are building tremendous momentum going into the convention.

That is the reality of where we are right now, and why we are going to fight for every delegate and every vote. It is why I am going to continue to speak to voters in every state about the very important issues facing our country. Our country cannot afford to stop fighting for a $15 minimum wage, to overturn Citizens United, or to get universal health care for every man, woman, and child in America.

I’m asking you to help me continue to lead these fights. We have an FEC deadline on Saturday and another primary on Tuesday. Every vote we earn and every delegate we win is a testament to our ideas, to our movement, to our political revolution, and our willingness to take this campaign for the Democratic nomination all the way to the convention.

Will you contribute $50 to help us continue to speak to voters about the incredibly important issues facing our country? Your support right now before two big deadlines will send an unmistakable message that our voices will still be heard.

There is no doubt in my mind that what you and I have done together up to this point is nothing short of historic. And I know that if we are going to work together, we will continue making history.

In solidarity,

Bernie Sanders

Ed Schultz Goes on the Attack Over Clinton’s Position On the TPP

Ed Schultz Goes on the Attack Over Clinton’s Position On the TPP

David Brock, (Clinton supporter) and Ed Schultz (Bernie Sanders supporter) get into a heated argument on CNN. Brock claims that Hillary Clinton is the first Democratic candidate to go negative in her campaign against Bernie Sanders. This statement is true, as most of us know by now, especially those of us who are strong supporters of Bernie Sanders

Ed Schultz hands David Brock his ass, as you can well imagine. Schultz then makes some great points about the fact that it was actually Hillary Clinton who went negative first in her campaign. Ed Schultz makes a very good point about Clinton accepting large amounts of money from super PACs and only coming out against TPP only after being put under tremendous pressure by Bernie Sanders.

This last statement about Hillary Clinton not coming out against the TPP is entirely true, as most of us know. The only reason that she came out against the TPP was because she actually was put under great pressure from the Sanders campaign about this very crucial issue. Hillary Clinton tried to dodge this question on several occasions to the point of being rude to reporters who asked her position on the TPP. For a while, she gave the lame excuse that she didn’t want to “second-guess” President Obama, who is a strong supporter of the TPP.

Ed Schultz, when he was still on MSNBC, was very adamant in his condemnation of the TPP and the effect it would have on American jobs and workers. In fact, I believe like a lot of people that Ed Schultz was fired from his job on MSNBC because of his impassioned opposition to this disaster in the making known as the TPP.

Personally, I don’t really believe that Hillary Clinton is totally against the TPP, as she now says she is. If she is elected president, I truly believe there is a good chance that she will flip-flop as she has done on many occasions, and totally change her position about the TPP. Frankly, I don’t trust her on this very important issue which Bernie Sanders has abdicated against the last several years. In fact, he was advocating against the TPP before most people even knew what TPP was.

Her position on the TPP is one area where I don’t trust her. Ed Schultz does an excellent job of making both of these points about the pressure from the Sanders campaign and that he really doesn’t believe that she is actually against the TPP as much and she says she is. David Brock has very little response to this verbal barrage because probably deep down he knows that Ed Schultz has a very good position that he cannot dispute.

Also during this very heated exchange between Ed Schultz and David Brock the issue came up about the fact that Hillary Clinton has largely financed her presidential campaign by accepting money from large super PACs. Ed Schultz, who has been a long time opponent a big money in politics, launched a very spirited attack against the Clinton campaign, making some very good points while doing so. Personally, I agree with the concept of big money playing too big of a part in American politics. It has gotten to the point where corporate America can easily buy almost any candidate by contributing huge amounts of money to their campaigns; thus pushing their corporate agenda beyond any type of control and lessening the voting power of the average American citizen.

Personally, I really do believe that Hillary Clinton will probably change your position back to being in favor of it if she is elected president. People need to concede that Hillary Clinton is just another status quo candidate. She is elected president, it will be back to business as usual. Bernie Sanders, is a breath of badly needed fresh air in American politics.

Bernie Sanders Defends The Palestinian People

This should anger EVERYONE

This should anger EVERYONE

Bernie Sanders for President

There’s something I need to share with you, Blane, and it’s probably going to anger you. It should probably anger everyone. Here it is:

Our opponent is bending campaign finance rules to their breaking point all so Wall Street fat cats and people like Walmart’s Alice Walton can get away with giving hundreds of thousands of dollars in a single contribution to benefit the Clinton campaign.

You already know about the fundraiser Hillary Clinton held where a couple could contribute $353,000 to sit at a table with George Clooney. That money doesn’t go directly to the Clinton campaign, it goes to something called the “Hillary Victory Fund” – another account that has raised almost $35 million.

Well, for MONTHS the Clinton campaign has been saying the primary purpose of that fund is to support the DNC and state parties. But that’s not even close to true.

According to the Hillary Victory Fund’s most recent FEC report, the vast majority of the money they spent in 2016 – $25 MILLION – went directly towards helping the Clinton campaign itself.

So, what can we do about it? We can either sit back and shrug our shoulders at yet another obscene injustice. Or, we can fight. I say we fight.

Contribute $50 to Bernie’s campaign today to help us win New York and as a way of saying you have had ENOUGH of the way Hillary Clinton’s campaign is funding its campaign and super PACs.

So, this is distressing, but it’s probably to be expected. The Clinton campaign has raised the majority of its money from people giving the maximum amount of money under the law and her super PACs have raised more than $15 million from Wall Street and the financial industry alone.

Do you believe we can change a corrupt system by taking its money? Bernie Sanders says no, and that’s the choice New Yorkers face on Tuesday.

The choice you face right now, is are you willing to contribute $50 to fight back and win this primary, the White House and take our country back from the billionaire class? You can do that here:

https://go.berniesanders.com/we-must-keep-fighting

This is the most important week and a half of the campaign. How we respond in this moment could mean the difference between victory and defeat.

Ted Cruz: Right-Wing Religious Nut Job To The Core

After reading this article in Mother Jones, I am totally convinced more than I already was that Ted Cruz is nothing more than a total right-wing nut job. In fact, his extremism convinces me that he would be dangerous to have as President of the United States. His viewpoint makes him sound more dangerous than Donald Trump as president. I have a pretty good idea that you will agree with me, after reading the article.

When Ted Cruz was Solicitor General, which basically is the same thing as Attorney General in other states, he defended a ridiculous law on the books that bans the sale and use dildos and other such sexual devices. When I first read the article I thought that it was some type irreverent joke by Mother Jones magazine, as they had been known to do in the past. But, this entire thing actually happened. Ted Cruz actually had the unmitigated gall to defend a lot that said that people have  no right to sexually pleasure themselves in whatever way they chose. After reading this article, I also asked myself the question, “how much taxpayers money of the people of Texas was wasted on this ridiculous court case?”

Ted Cruz, as most people know by now, states that life begins at conception and that abortion should be banned. This opinion is entirely based in religion, and as far as I’m concerned has no place in governing the American people. His physician about abortion, and now the use of sex toys, are a violation of the U.S. Constitution which clearly states that there is a separation of church and state. Personally, I for one am a total defender on this separation, and always have been. Legislation of this type is downright dangerous, in my opinion, because it allows the government to overstep itself and reach into citizens personal lives.

Although this article may sound funny at first glance, I believe that it points out just how steeped in hypocrisy people like Ted Cruz really are. On one hand, they are always advocating for a smaller government and less government overreach. On the other hand, they are always proposing stupid legislation like this ban on sex toys. They also never seem to know how to enforce these types of stupid laws. This just serves to stress the level of hypocrisy people like Ted Cruz, and other religious right-wing nuts like him represent.

It never ceases to amaze me how these types of people like Ted Cruz are always advocating in favor of stupid laws like regulating sex toys, marijuana, or whether or not a woman has a right to choose what happens to her body. They never seem to squawk about government overreach when it comes to personal decisions that everyone has a right to make.

But, when our government tries to enact and enforce important legislation like, gun control, laws for environmental protection, or regulate the practices of big business, and other legislation intended to help our society, they always complain about big government and how it overstep itself.

When are people like Ted Cruz going to see that they cannot have it both ways?

Ted Cruz’s Dangerous Ideologies

Ted Cruz follows in his father’s footsteps. His idea—that the separation of Church and State has to be done away with—is consistent with the ideological worldview that characterizes dictatorships in the Hispanic world. Francisco Franco embodied the

Thank YOU, George Clooney

Bernie Sanders for President

Remember that Hillary Clinton fundraiser on Friday where a couple could contribute $353,000 to sit at a table with George Clooney? Well, George Clooney himself was asked on NBC whether that was an obscene amount of money, and here’s what he said:

“It is an obscene amount of money, the Sanders campaign when they talk about it is absolutely right. It’s ridiculous that we have this kind of money in politics.” – George Clooney

Here’s the truth: you cannot change a corrupt campaign finance system by taking its money. That’s what this election is about: tearing down a system where big money props up the institutions that rig the economy against ordinary Americans. And the central question of our campaign is can 99% of Americans defeat the 1% trying to maintain the status quo? That’s why we have to ask:

Contribute $50 to Bernie’s campaign today to help us win New York and as a way of saying you have had ENOUGH of millionaires and billionaires buying our campaigns and elections.

This is without question that most important week of our campaign. New York votes Tuesday and five states follow one week later. How we step up and respond in this moment could very well mean the difference between victory and defeat for our political revolution.

The Attempt By the Media To Downplay the Bernie Sanders Campaign

Despite the fact that Sanders’ campaign has only grown larger and larger, the media always bends over backwards to dismiss him.

The Attempt by the Media to Downplay the Bernie Sanders Campaign

I have noticed a very active attempt by the so-called “mainstream media”to downplay the significant accomplishments of the Bernie Sanders campaign. Even so-called “progressive” media seems to have joined the fray in attempting to overlook the Sanders campaign and the great progress it is made. Even MSNBC, once regarded as a top progressive media outlet, has joined in this attempt to overlook the accomplishments of Sen. Bernie Sanders. Frankly, I really must say I’m totally disgusted by the entire thing.

It seems that for some reason, it’s almost as though the media feels threatened by Bernie Sanders, and the very notable accomplishments he has made in his run for president of the United States. Even though many of us to recognize this fact are often labeled as whacked out “conspiracy theorists” most of us make a very valid point in our argument.

It seems that the media is almost trying to sabotage his campaign, or are working in collusion with the Clinton campaign.  Hillary Clinton has become the “darling” of media coverage, even though her campaign has been shown to be falling behind and making mistakes. It has become quite obvious to me that some reporters, even those on MSNBC, are clear-cut Clinton supporters. I would be willing to bet that many of them will probably vote for Hillary Clinton.

Much of this increasingly obvious understating the accomplishments of the Bernie Sanders campaign is coming from “political pundits” and “experts” who always seem to be talking about why Bernie Sanders cannot be elected, and often pull many arguments against him out of thin air. I often times wonder if these pundits are being paid off by the Clinton campaign, even though I realize that this point makes me sounds a bit paranoid. However, I learned a long time ago, especially in politics, not to take anything at face value and not trust anything that comes from any of the so-called political experts”.

I often wonder, where do they find these people? Most of these people I’ve never heard of and just seem to appear out of thin air. After listening to this people for a while it doesn’t take long to come to the conclusion that most of them not only don’t know what they’re talking about but magically pull ridiculous answers out of their asses. Little of the so-called “facts” seems to be based on any type of truth.

In the case of the Bernie Sanders campaign, I can’t understand how they can possibly ignore his campaign, especially since he has won so many primaries, picking up delegates as he goes, has succeeded in raising so much money from grassroots supporters like me. He doesn’t have to depend on super PACs for his support, unlike his counterpart Hillary Clinton. It often appears to me that the media doesn’t want his campaign to succeed because he is a direct threat to the “status quo” system of big money involvement in our political process.

Frankly, this maintenance of the current system of campaign financing doesn’t really surprise me. This is because most of our media outlets are now controlled by corporate America. We no longer have a truly free press left in the United States.
